I was so excited to get this PBS Playtime Tablet/DVD Player for my grandkids. When they come over they all fight over the tablet I have, but now they are fighting over this tablet!!! It has such cute bright blue and green colors and is super sturdy. Most tablets I have to buy a case for, but this one is so thick and sturdy I won't even need to get a case. This tablet is a 7 in. screen which is a perfect size for small or adult hands. I love that it is an educational tablet. Being an educator like it has parental controls you can set. You can manage the apps, approve or block content, and set a time limit on their play time, and those are great features. PBS is a fantastic learning station and it's like they brought the show to this tablet. When you start the tablet up the same songs that play on the show play on this tablet. The set up is very easy and it walks you step by step through it on the screen. You can use it as a DVD or tablet. This is great because if one child wants to watch their own show they can just put the DVD in and tilt the screen up to watch. I have shown it tilted up for a table top in my pictures. Not only can kids watch their movies, but an adult could watch theirs on this too. The DVD plays beautifully and the screen is very clear. It has a plug in for headsets if you want it to play quietly also. This is a great feature for traveling in the car or on a plane too. There is a blue strap that attaches to the back of the tablet that slides over the top of a seat back, to hold the DVD player for traveling. It is Wi-Fi ready and uses Bluetooth. You can go to Google Play with this tablet and download over a million other educational apps, books, magazines, TV shows, or games also. The tablet has 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of flash memory. It also comes with a charger and will stay charged for about 8 hours. 
It comes with over 23 preloaded educational games and 120 video clips, songs and music videos that all teach reading, math, social studies, science, school readiness, and more. It also comes with a free DVD PBS Kids Word of Week that my grandkids really enjoyed. What a great way to keep their reading and spelling skills up over the summer. This is educator approved by me and my grandkids have loved it also. I would highly recommend this tablet.

Grandkid and Grandma Approved!!! 

The PBS kids tablet can do everything. You wouldn't expect a kids tablet to have so many features. It has 7.0 android, 16GB, comes already loaded with games video & songs, and also has Google play so you can download more games & movies, and also has micro SD slot to really help save space. I love that this tablet even has a DVD player you can prop up with built in stand and it comes with straps to hook on car headrest. Long or short trips are much more peaceful. You don't have to worry everything on it is educational, it has parental control so everything you download is of your preference, not kids accident. The only thing I see missing is a camera. The battery lasts a good 8 hours and seemed to charge quickly. Seems to be a good kids tablet, so far so good.

The PBS kids tablet can do everything

The PBS Kids playtime tablet and DVD player, after installation, plays DVD's and fun games, clips, songs, and music videos. The unit took about 6 hours to charge. It's intuitive and after first loading, it welcomed us with "PBS kids" and sounded just like what the children watch on TV. 

The tablet walks the user through internet set-up and loading applications that our children will use. The DVD feature is nice when traveling or going to adult function's. It's easy to open and place the DVD into the player and we use our headphones for quiet entertainment. 

The tablet came with a "word of the week" DVD; which, is a fun way to learn vocabulary. The tablet is thick, user friendly, and kid safe. The screen is 7 inches, and has multi-touch capacity. Big enough screen for little hands. The tablet has 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of flash memory, and is WiFi ready as our picture shows. The tablet has blue-tooth, parental controls, and android functionality. The tablet also has extra features such as an included strap to adhere to the back of a headrest for road trips and a built-in stand for viewing on a table. 

We have powered this unit on/off several times for use, and everything has worked as intended. 

What a fun way for children to learn, and also have DVD entertainment!

Fun for Children and Adults

At first it wouldn't let me register so I couldn't get into the tablet. But..I got everything set up and it's really neat! My 3 year old loves it. It has google play store(which I love). It came with a lot of games preloaded. Another great attribute is the DVD player..my son loves to watch his nick jr dvds..so that's a plus. The games load just a little slow but it's quite ok! I think the the reasoning behind that is because of all the preloaded stuff on the tablet. But it's a great tablet overall!

There is also a USB port on the side so your child use headphones with it and not disturb other people. It comes with preloaded videos, songs, educational games, and much more. Also, included is a free "PBS Kids Word of the Week!" dvd. Since it is a tablet, it can be used with wi-fi and has parental controls you can set to your specifications. As a parent, you can also set time limits as well as daily usage to control how much time your child is spending on this tablet/dvd player. It is very eye catching to the child in the bright green and teal color combination. Since it is made for children, it is made to be durable, and is not a flimsy toy. It comes with 180 day parts & labor limited manufactures warranty. Your child will enjoy many hours of fun and learning with this tablet/dvd player.

Great Tablet/DVD combo for kids!

What i liked the most of this tablet , its that you can hang it at the back of the seat for long trips.

Its easy to use, has a good volume and the apps are what kids like.

It comes with a dvd too. I only think that it s a little bit heavy
 for a 2 years old for holding in legs like in the photo. I prefer use it on the table (stand) 

I think the dvd operation system is complicated for kids, its neccesary to have an adult to assist.

Perfect for car trips

Overall, I am fairly happy with the PBS Kids Playtime Tablet DVD player. I love that it came preloaded with games and shows – that is very convenient! We haven't needed to download anything new and don't really even plan on doing that because there's just so much variety already on there. The 7” screen is a good size – not too large, but definitely big enough to see the shows and play the games with ease. The DVD player seems to work well, and makes it very convenient for travel to just have one tablet that has both games and shows, and will play a DVD! I love the green and blue colors – very neutral and works well for everyone. It says this is a kid safe tablet so I'm hoping it holds up well over time. The screen got dirty very quickly but it seemed to clean up easily. The only negative is that it seems to freeze up a lot, and when we first tried to set it up, it wouldn't allow us to access any of the games, even though we had set up an account. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a 2-in-1 tablet and DVD player for a child.

Good product

The tablet/DVD is a perfect DVD player and learning tablet for smaller kids. Battery last time is decent around six hours. I would advise sticking to everything that comes on the tablet. There is plenty of games, videos, and coloring pages that come on it. Seems to run slow or crash if you try to download big games from the play store. If you just play DVD's or use the apps that come on it, its a really good tablet. The strap that comes with it works great for a head mount on the car. It stays, very sturdy, and the DVD's don't skip if you hit a pump in the road.

Good tablet/DVD for Learning

So far this is a great kids tablet. It came preloaded with videos and games, and can also be used as a DVD player. The tablet has blue-tooth, parental controls, and android functionality. If you want to add games or apps that is always an option as well in the Google Play Store. It comes with kickstand and a strap to use on headrest in the car which is awesome for long trips. The dvd it came with is very educational and my niece and nephew had a lot of fun. It's not a fancy, super fast tablet, but is perfect for kids. I would def recommend it to parents or grandparents.

Fun Kids Tablet'

This product is a true multi-tasker. It is a tablet and a DVD player but so much more. I work as a nanny and I'm always looking for educational toys which are also safe from the exposure to the internet which this is. The many functions and uses of this tablet are all educational in purpose which makes this a great child friendly product. However, there are some small glitches and hiccups in it's functions which distract from the overall experience of what this tablet can do. The one thing I do want to point is this tablet is for toddlers ages 2 and older. It's a learning toy. I've read several reviews critizing this tablet and I believe they may have forgotten this is a toy. Some complain it can be slow and ideed it can be but the child I had play with it didn't seem to mind. . It is preloaded with 22 educational games, video clips and videos teaching reading and math along other things. It is a real tablet with wi-fi capabilities and a nougat operating system but on a child's level. It is wi-fi equipped opening up even more functions such as google play programs. When wifi is not available, the DVd player runs independently without it's use so it will always be ready for your little one to interact with. The tablet comes with a well padded air filled "envelope" which is reuseable ,a charger, a DVD "Word of the Week, A fun way to Expand Vocabulary", Quickstart Guide, Paren't guide and warranty card. The warranty is 180 days parts and labor and 1 year limited parts. It also comes with a strap to mount it on the back side of a car headrest is you choose to use it this way which is one way I personally will never allow. I don't want a kids toy playing in my ear. The one thing I do want to warn you is when the tablet is first started the welcome page comes up and the sound PBS Kids is announced. If the volume is not turned down from the previous usage session the announcement is super loud and startling. The battery does not stay charged for a prolonged time. If not plugged in I can get an hour's use out of it and of course no limit if it's plugged in. All in all this product is unique as it has so many functions and I would recommend.

Kid safe and lots of fun

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS TABLET! We just received this tablet today for our 4 year old and right out of the box there are scratches all over the screen and the actual tablet! Also when powering on the tablet directly from the box it had a battery percentage of 99% and within 20 minutes of our son playing with it and watching a movie it is completely dead and needs to be charged! Does not hold a charge! This tablet seems to be refurbished. There was also no plastic on the screen that usually comes with new electronics!!

Waste of money!
