Extra sensor for my oculus rift, definately needed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After purchasing the oculus rift around Christmas time, i saw that turning around and not facing the sensors when shooting the zombies, the system would tell me I wasn't in view anymore, then I'd be eaten by the living dead. So I realized I needed a rear sensor. That helped dramatically. A few months later I determined I wanted a 4th sensor. One for each corner, which is even better now. And the initial setup or placement of the sensors when calibrating is even better, easier than before. The sensors were positively needed for better tracking, and more realistic room-scale playing than with only the 2. And, it comes with an extra extension cable that I didn't realize I needed. So the living dead will not hurt me anymore now. The system Rocks....

Adds better room support
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not necessary but makes room scale better. i had my two sensor above my desk but if i played a game where I had to pick something up and I would lose tracking. I know some people get away with two for room scale but decided to pick up a third sensor and it made a huge difference. Have great tracking but have the third placed lower so it tracks better when I pick stuff up off the ground. It was kind of pain to setup initially but once you set it up it's good to go unless you move the sensors.

Great upgrade for pure tracking
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third sensor on my oculus rift set up . I’m using a GTX 1080 TI graphics card , with a core I seven 4700 K clocked at 4.80 GHz on air cooling . At first I was using one sensor, then moved up to two sensors with the oculus touch. But I noticed a delay or lag anytime I turned around when I try to use 360° tracking . It would turn into a pain in the butt sometimes because when I turn my head I would have one second glitch when the cameras would lose tracking . So I decided to pick up the third sensor in order to improve this tracking . Not only am I able to have a full 360° room scaling now in a 15 foot wide by 15 foot long room which is huge. But I am also able to have a glitch free tracking session for the most part, and all my games and titles . Almost 99 percent as smooth as real reality . It is so fast now the brain can hardly tell the difference between moving my hand and realize on the controller , The millisecond response time is outstanding on these three sensors . Just a word of advice, and order to get her three sensors functioning flawlessly, I had to upgrade to an additional pci-express USB adapter card . The way USB works is each port is not its own host controller, so you end up sharing a lot of bandwidth on the same host . This slows down the sensors speed as well as any of your other USB products that are on the same line . So in order for me to fix the problem I had when installing the third sensor I had to buy a USB adapter. At first , it worked great but I still had some slow and sluggish glitches in response time problems . As soon as I bought an upgraded USB adapter card with four individual hosts, I was able to separate each sensor on its own direct USB host for direct DMI access to the pci express bus on the motherboard . In layman’s terms when using the standard USB host controller set up on your PC, you have so many USB devices connected on the same line or similar lines, that they are saturated . By buying an additional USB card with individual Host controllers, you are giving each USP product and each sensor it’s own information highway directly to your computer is motherboard and PCI express bus for a pure 100 percent clean and unnterrupted connection

Love my rift.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the rift. And realized I wanted more space. Setup a room just for it. And then realized I wanted full room vr. Grabbed a third sensor. Loved it. But noticed a slight hiccup in the corner without a sensor. Went looking. And found the sensor cheaper than what I originally bought. Grabbed a fourth one. Since they come with 16 ft cables. This made it easy. Ran the cables. Tested the connections. Put them in permanent place. Boom. Went from about 75-80 percent accuracy. To about 99.5. If your computer can handle 4 sensors. Do it. If you want room scale perfection. That is all.

Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All though tracking with two sensors on the rift is good, three is better. Bought a third sensor so I can have better tracking for games like onward. Works great! And it came with an extension cable.

Ideal for room scale
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Room scale works wonderfully with the third sensor. Once plugged the oculus setup guides you through the process, it is all very simple and just works. Included a 16ft extension cable

Q: QuestionAre these mandatory for use of the oculus rift and if so how many are suggested.
Asked by Ben.
- A:Answer When you buy Oculus Rift with Touch you get 2 Sensors. So not mandatory, Just recommended if you are playing games that have 360 Experience. For Front Facing Games or Games where you are sitting in a chair there will not be any benefit. But I was say Since Mid July most of the Big Games released will take advantage of 360 Viewing which would require 3 Sensor for correct experience.

Q: QuestionDoes this come with an extension cable? How long?
Asked by Dean.
- A:Answer Yes it does, Its 15FT. If it doesnt come with it contact Bestbuy as the way Oculus packages the extension cable confuses the stockers and they separate the cable and sensor.
