Great camera with only a few limitations
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is currently available for $399 USD, which makes it hands down the best value in compact cameras right now. Sometimes I don't want to pack along my bigger Fuji system with multiple lenses, so I just bring this along instead. It doesn't disappoint. JPEG images look great straight out of the camera. Or, if you don't mind getting your hands dirty and messing with a RAW file, you've got that option as well. Take some time to dig through the menus to see what options are available to you. The in-camera HDR processor is surprisingly effective. I also use the time lapse video feature as well. Images are reasonably sharp, probably more than I would expect in a camera like this. And certainly more than sharp enough for web use. Physically, it's small and somewhat weighty due to its metal construction. It just feels sturdy. Power up is quick; just the amount of time it takes for the lens to extend out of its housing. I've used the Canon phone app to transfer photos to my Android device, and it works like a champ. Just know what this camera is good for. You'll get nice shots of your kids indoor birthday party, but probably not of their indoor sports. You don't get much reach with the lens, so you might want to move up to the G7XmkII if you need longer zoom. I'm finding that it's great for travel/nature/landscape work, and an occasional street scene that I might come across. If you just choose this as your only stand-alone camera, I think you're making a good choice. Take some time to learn it and to understand what it can and can't do, and you should get years of great images.

Best point and shoot I ever own.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera it's awesome. Mind blowing. I first bought the Canon sx730 hs because of the long zoom and the tilting screen. But the quality of the pictures doesn't compete with this camera. It's incredible the differenss between the 2/3 sensor on the sx730 hs to de 1" sensor on this one. The clarity and details are superb on de canon g9 x. It's almost as good as my canon t4i but much smaller. The zoom it's not that bad, it works for me. Great camera.

LOVE IT!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this camera. I have been looking for a new camera for awhile now since my canon powershot 400sx is stopped working out the middle of no where. Originally I was going to go for the g7x but they are out of stock everywhere. I love the quality of this camera. My YouTube videos are now a little more crispier. The only drawback to this camera is no flip out screen as I can’t see myself so it’s hard to know if I’m in frame or not lol. Anywho, great camera for the price. I love it entirely.

Early yet good so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this real quick that's for sure...like two days so that was a good start on Best Buys part. I got this mostly because my S95 went for an unintended swim and I have a trip coming up so I want better pictures than my lame phone will take. So far...in a couple of weeks the camera is taking fantastic pictures...mainly of the point and shoot kind. I don't mind that one has to take a bit of time to get good shots but reading reviews people post who obviously didn't bother to read sentence one of the manual can be a head shaker..I was very pleased seeing the paper book manual opening up the package because that CD ROM they were substituting for a manual for a while just wasn't for me. Like it so far..time will tell

What An Incredible Little Camera...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this camera up about a month ago as a complement to my main camera, the EOS M6. I wanted a genuinely pocket-sized camera that could pack a punch, and boy does this little thing rise to occasion. I knew it would have stellar photo quality because it uses, pretty much, the same sensor as the G7x and G5x series, which are incredible advanced compacts. What I didn't expect was just how small the G9x Mk II was going to be when I took it out of the box... This thing is TINY. And for the past month the photos and videos I've taken with it have pretty evenly matched those from the G7x and G5x I've used in the past. There are 2 (minor) downsides to the G9x though. The first being the lack of a flip or articulating display. And the second is the fact that you cannot record in 60fps when in auto mode, you actually have to switch the dial to movie mode and set 60p as your desired recording frame rate. At full price ($529) the camera is a bit overreaching. But at it's now pretty common $429 price it's a no-brainer to add to your camera arsenal.

Great Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally! A point and shoot camera that is halfway comparable to a DSLR. I am a professional photographer so I am very particular about my cameras. I usually purchase Sony Cybershots but I decided to switch up after doing a lot of research and a final recommendation from the store clerk. I'm not disappointed that I did. This camera is perfect, it shoots nice crisp pictures and has manual settings. It's small so I won't have to carry around a bulky camera to get professional quality photos. I love it.

Q: QuestionWhat's the difference between this camera and the Canon - PowerShot G9 X 20.2-Megapixel Digital Camera ?
Asked by curiouscat.
- A:Answer Most of the differences between the original Canon PowerShot G9X vs the newer mark II are subtle, e.g. the newer camera has better bluetooth connectivity options (such as transferring pictures directly to your cell phone). However, one of the bigger differences between the two cameras is the processor. The G9X mark II has a newer, more powerful Digic 7 processor. This facilitates quite a few improvements, including a higher continuous shooting rate and better focus tracking. This also makes a big difference for those interested in shooting in the RAW picture format. Otherwise, both cameras are quite similar.
