[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this phone. I've had a lot of phones in the past 3 years but this is my top fave of all time. It has a large screen great for streaming. The camera is my favorite feature and takes the best photos compared to all my past devices. The only complaint I have is that the phone is very slick and you have to have a protective case,  popper holder or ring holder. Other than that it's a 9.5 out of 10

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so shocked by some of the reviews on here. Whatever bugs people may have been experiencing must have been fixed with a software update after the phones release. I have NOT experienced any of the noted issues from other reviews. This is a solid phone. I got it on a recent promotion (half off). The build quality is good, and it feels solid in the hand. Design is long and narrow, which makes it easy to hold in one hand, and much smoother for one handed operation on simple tasks. 

Consumers should keep in mind that LG has several tires in their smartphone line-up. They have flagships, mid-range, and entry level phones. I would categorize the VELVET as an upper mid-range phone. Is the phone flawless? No, but it's well made, sturdy, feels solid and premium. Plus, it's from a reputable brand that people know. It comes with a lot of extras that other mid-range phones made by other brands DO NOT, and those brands even charge more for less. This is definitely a great option for someone who wants a premium build device, snappy performance, a 3.5MM headphone for wired headphones, and a gorgeous large screen without having to pay the huge price tag. Yes, some sacrifices had to be made to keep the phones cost affordable for the budget conscious consumer. Nothing wrong with that.  There are definitely more bells and whistles than there are negatives. Pros and cons below.

No camera notch
Gorgeous design and display
4,000 MAH batter (Gets me through the day)
Nice LG user interface (I always liked their software skin on Android)
Dual stereo speakers (check this thing out because it gets LOUD)
Does not feel heavy in the head
Stylus capable

Cons:
No Ultra HD display (This is fine because 1080P is more than enough for the eye to see)
No 5,000 MAH battery (All phones in 2020 and any phone with 5G should come with 5,000MAH and up)
No dedicated telephoto lens (I don't need it, but it is nice to have)
Wish it came with 256GB built in storage
Cameras are decent and work well, but are not flagship level cameras. Photos are decent.
No 32 BIT QDAC for enhanced audio files when listening to music in the wired headphone jack (not a deal breaker, but nice to have)
Fast charger included, but NOT the Ultra Fast Charger
Wish it came with wired headphones (I love little extras)
Wish T-Mobile got more of the fashion colors. I wanted this so bad in green and red.

Stylist & Superb Upper Mid-Range Smartphone

My Velvet is one smooth operator!! 
It's one of my top 3 phones!!

The features are nice if youre into the android software. But the software crashed a few times. The screen is beautiful, its big, bright and color look splendid. Battery last all day with some to spare. The camera kinda inst so great, inaccurate colors and kinda bland. The t mobile version of this phone also doesn't have wireless charging. It has an internal speaker or sorts which i think is cool. It makes it seem like the sound is coming through the screen but the sound through the speaker has a tunneling echo. Design is nicer than most phones and it feel super premium. 5g is a beast on this 60-110 gbs. Great phone for the price, it could be way better though

Best Mid Range phone you can get.

I've been an Lg fan since the g series. I updated from the g8 thinQ about 2 weeks ago and im ready to go back to it honestly. Since the g7 LG has been stripping away features that made their devices flagships and it seems they put more effort into the camera. The g8 lacked a led notification light and so does this phone. In this device they've also taken away their trademark quick memo feature which I enjoyed. There's also no screen record option on this phone. It's pretty but it's not worth an upgrade.

Out of five attempts to unlock, it is possible to do it only once or twice.
Before Velvet I had an LG G6 and an LG G7.
These phones have the perfect scanner.

Also I'm still waiting for the promised Android 13 update, as 14 is about to drop I don't think mine will receive any more updates.
